The Big Beats formed in 1957. In 1958 they were the first 50's Rock & Roll Band to sign with Columbia Records and were an instant hit with their performance on Dick Clark’’s American Band Stand. In 1962 the band signed with Liberty Records and became one of the favorite artists of their time touring with many of the Super Stars - including Buddy Holly & The Crickets, Johnny Cash, Gene Vincent, Roy Orbison, Buddy Knox, Ricky Nelson, Sonny James and Bobby Darrin. The Five Piece group toured successfully for more than 20 years with various band members, and has recently reformed.
